SHOCK COVERS - Good Or Bad?
#1
HI I was wondering if shock covers are good for your shocks or Bad? I know they are good for keeping out dust/mud. I ride in alot of mud and they do there job well but I usually leave the covers on and wash them that way. Do they trap some dirt/water inside them and could this actually be worse then not using them at all? SHould you remove them every time you wash? Any thoughts or opionions?
I have some on now but if its actually better not to have them...Off they come.

You will want to clean them out every once in awhile. Just some more preventative mantinance. Leave them on. They help a lot with protection, etc. But if you flood them like going throught a creek. then take them off and wash down the shock jmo

Yeah it helps, plus they look cool. Ig your bike ever gets super muddy, just take one off and you'll see how clean the shocks are. IT helps extend the life alot, shocks are expensive, any protection you can get for them is well worth it.

Shock covers will rub the paint right off the springs, but the protection they offer is well worth it. You'll just have to keep them on. I heard the neoprene ones dont rub nearly as bad though, havent tried them.

anything that protects is almost never bad just has negative with shock covers they wear at the paint

the benefits far outway the drawbacks
if they get really dirty wash the grit off the inside
they will keep mud from caking on your shocks,,,and also keep the pressure washer off your shocks
good mod,,,,,and it will extend the life of your shocks
