Default WARRIOR OIL FILTER

this has been bugging me. i did my first oil change on my warrior and installed a new mesh filter. there is a 1/4" protrusion in the housing that looks like the filter should fit over. if this is what it is for, the filter will not go over this. so i just placed the filter into the housing up against the protrusion. am iasking for trouble or is the the proper way of installation?

the ruber gasket goes on the inside... just make sure that the old gasket is out of there. also take some starter fluid and spray it in there to help get any metal shavings out of there.

so does the opening on the gasket end go over the protrusion or does the filter just lay in there with the gasket side on the inside?
