ZimRaptor, I know you are a one of our northern friends, but maybe you should do a little research into what runs the US military. We have several applications of very high horse diesels, the Abrahms being a primary example.
Also; all of these diesels are turbo'ed. Put 25lbs of turbo boost to a 400ci small block and see what kind of HP your going to get.

If you could get a diesel to turn high RPMs like a gas motor, I would bet on the diesel to make more HP also.

heres a question for everyone saying diesel makes more horsepower and 'shaves' off quarter mile times....have u ever seen a diesel dragster?

The Marine Corps is currently testing a diesel motor in a Kawasaki KLR-650 chassis. The reason for this concept is not power, but commonality of fuel; everything in the military inventory runs on diesel or jet fuel. If you were watching Mail Call on the History Channel, you would have seen the footage filmed on it. Its produced by Hayes Diversified Technologies in Hisperia, CA.
The name-of-the-game when talking diesel is low reving TORQUE, not high reving horsepower. The bike has a rear sproket twice the size of a gas motor.
PS: NHRA has introduced a Diesel catagory this year.

zim no offence but everytime your post u keep getting burned!! yeah your putting up a good agrument and im not trying to start a diesal vs gas thread lik the yammi vs honda threads so just chill ok and its not like they would b abel to put a diesal into a sport quad becuz the engine block is way to heavy theres not spark on a diesal so the iron black is WAY heavier then the aluminum block so most likely on a huge 4x4 and another reason i bring this up is becuz every company besides honda and yammi has introduced a big bore 4x4 soo who knows wats going to top the brute 750 and polaris 800 is the anwser DIESAL?

To answer question on diesel dragster. We have seen a chevy pickup style bodied dragster called team diesel. He runs it at truck nationals at New England Dragway. it has a detroit diesel 8v two stroke semi truck motor with twin turbos and nitrous. It has two exhaust pipes sticking out of hood , looks like a freight train when it chugs to starting line ,does 137mph in quarter mile. He might have his own website.
