so, i and the wife were riding at new atv park yesterday that we just found out about and stumbled across a bunch of guys draggin down the dirt strip, rolled up and saw a blaster leavin a banshee by like four bike lengths, "I couldnt believe it ,"! then he raced a yfz450 jetted with a pipe and he was neck and neck, started talkin to the guy and he said he'd put a wiseco hot rod crank and piston, did a bunch of portin, couple of millimeters on the carb, he said it was equivilent to about a 220 kit. I never realized you could make a blaster run like that, I can only imagine what that 240 kit would do. I was stoked cause I love my blaster, mines pretty much all show and a little go, I could notice a real diffrence on low end with just the fmf slip on.

02 blaster, slip on, silv race plastic, douglas whls, holeshots.
02 klx300r, pro circuit pipe, jetted, mx fenders
97 300ex, pro circuit pipe, jetted, white race plastic.

CC's = torque..It has nothing to do with speed unless it's ported..

You can make a stock blaster go 150 mph with a few simple gearing changes, but that dosn't mean it's going to make any usuable power. Speed has little to do with power. With my set-up I bounce around between 12-13-14 teeth front sprockets. Each offers its own power/speed ratio.

Sorry shavo, no 150 on any stock blaster. I dont care if you have 26 miles to get it going, its not going to hit that in stock trim and I'm pretty sure you wont reach it modded with most bikes either. 150 is a helluva feat for a high powered modified banshee...

Stop reading theoretical gear charts, its messing with your head.

Lol, im pretty sure with 40-40 gearing you can hit close to 150. Not really pratical, but possible nun the less.

i understand that. im just saying if you have more torque you could change the gearing and still have enough usable power right? i know that if you change gear ratios when you have a stock quad you will either accelerate faster + have a lower top speed or have a higher top speed and not accelerate as fast.

i dont know if the blaster engine is powerful enough to move the gears fast enough to hit 150. theoeticaly its possible tho but not at all a reasonable idea. i think it would be too much friction. you may get away with making a blaster go 70 but even 70 would take a while to reach...
