Its cool PADZZ, I was just talking crap about the Motor Trend thing and I knew what you meant, but anyway I know the Raptor did beat it by a little bit but there where a lot of guys in these forums saying that the 400ex would beat the Raptor in MX because its lighter and its easier to "toss around", now they are saying "I hope it does beat it because its 260cc advantage".Im sure this magazine wasnt the best way to get my information but it does prove the Raptor is good on the MX track, and some people said it wasnt going to be.
Oh and one more thing I was just quoting about the "tight course" it sayed that on a "faster, typical MX track" the Raptors horsepower advantage would put the EX at an EXTREME disadvantage. Sorry about that I forgot to put that on my first post. Later

Congratulations to Yamaha. I'm happy that Yamaha finally came out with a fast, torquey, and well handling quad. I'm glad the Raptor is faster than my 400. But, you do have to take into consideration the displacement of each quad and price. If you put the $1000 you save on the 400 into motor work, the 400 will be a much better contender. I'm not bashing the Raptor at all. I was going to get one before I got my 400. But, I just want to do MX and that is all. I'm sure the Raptor will be good too. But, when you start modding the Raptor, the front wheels will never touch the ground because of all the torque it will have. No bashing meant at all.

like yamaraptor said you can't open up a raptor on the track so that leaves it up to torque and suspension. which means that maybe finally yamaha is doing something good here(suspension wise)and for it to win by that much consistently counts for somethin. you have to consider to that the riders' experience on the raptor has to be minimal compared to the 400ex which ahs been out for two years now. just a thought. now if you were racing them on a track with a lot of straights the raptor would crush it. which is where those 260 extra cc's come in handy.

I can't believe you guys, when the magazines said the 400ex was the best you all said don't believe what the magazines say. now that they are saying the raptor is the best and we are suposed to believe them??? I think the raptor is an awsome quad, but if a 400ex is hanging with it even with the cc disadvantge that has to be commended also. besides, remember the more you run your mouth now the more words you might have to eat if Honda comes out with a 650EX Talk less ride more.

apparently the 650 ex is not within 2 years of NOW, because a guy on the waiting list in california is 3rd on the list at a dealer because Honda Research is First on the list for Raptors. So I guess by then we'll have the new 426 quad And new blaster, and possibly revamped banshee. Unless they Elect Al Gore, then development will probably cease, since there will be no areas to ride them and they will have too Dirty Emissions.
