IS the Raptor even AMA legal? I know the DS650 wasn't untill they changed the max engine size.

The banshee is a 2 stroke, what do you expect, for the Raptor to completly dust a modded banshee? And I have heard that the stock Raptors have beaten both piped banshees and DS650's. Also, the Raptor has a lot of extra goodies that also add weight. So if a Raptor can atleast hang with a modded Banshee, I would be real happy!

Guys..I finally got my mag also. Did you notice that the 400ex broke down during the test? It appears that the shaft the clutch pack sits on locked up and the write up said that this is a known problem. The article went on to say that racers groove this shaft for more lubrication.

I have a habit of doing that myself. The 4-wheel atv action mag should be in stores any time.

Cant we all just get along.. I am a diehard yamaha guy here but jeez 660-400 duh.. well.. honda's awesome 400cc 4 valve 25hp vs. 400f 40+ yamaha r1 first production engine to make equivelant to 200hp per liter... ahh yamaha definately has the performance edge.. wheres honda's formula 1 technologies? while hondas playing with indy cars yamaha's helping ford design engines and build f-1 engines!

I didn't read the article, so I have a question. Did DirtWheels "make" up the price difference by adding $xxx worth of mods to the 400EX(as usual)?

Those of you who are hung up on the difference in price need to consider what you get for the extra $800 (not $1000 or $2000 as some wrote).

The Raptor offers: 259cc more, liquid cooling, and reverse. Don't forget a much more comfortable seat than the ex also.
