Hi SebraTrailer,

I would like to purchase the filter for the crankcase tube. Can you buy these filters at any yamaha dealer or do they sell them in the aftermarket?

Thank You,

IronBear

You got ripped. pal! Filters should only cost $10-$12, depending on how bad the dealer wants to pork you. I bought mine for $11. At least ask for a tube of KY jelly when you buy your next filter for $19! OUCH!

$19...I bought an R1 filter (which is longer with 2 more drain holes) for $11. Have you checked your crank case hose to see if it is sucking air? Mine pushes air.

Not to sound stupid, but where exactly on the engine is the Crankcase vent?

The vent is under the left carb and attaches to the lower end of the motor (or crank case). It's job is to expell air that is built up by the combustion process.

Thanks for the quick response garyc660r.. Is there a hose or tube coming out of that vent?

Thanks!
