When my raptor was totally stock, my friend also had a stock predator. I beat him with ease. I then moved up slowly and got the HMF slip on, and jetted it to HMF's specs. I got beat everytime. Messed with the jetting some more, got UPP intake boots, and didnt loose to him after that. Also, i think the 12 tooth front sprocket is a waste, nice for 2nd gear holeshots though, but its just a waste, i think you drag much faster with the stock sprocket.---Rider1169

Back when I had a raptor,I added a Graydon pipe, silencer, and Pro Design air filter kit.I raced another raptor that was stock and I got smoked.I was very upset.Called Graydon and they told me to rejet it.I did.Raced the stock raptor later with very different results.
Lose the lid and put bigger jets in it.Get the ProDesign air filter kit with the K&N filter.Call the company you got the pipe from for which jets you should use.You should easily smoke the predator.

You need to 1st fix the float levels. They all come out wrong from the factory. Fix them and you gain 3HP and way more usable RPM range. Saw it with my own eyes on the dyno and did it on 5 raptors. All show 3HP gains with correct float levels. No jet changes, just float levels and you have 10% more power. With a good jet kit, full pipe (Sparks, CT or Pro Cicuit), K&N, no lid on the airbox and your up from a stock 36 to around 45 to 47HP. A predator with a pipe will make around 40 to 42HP. No match.

Stock gearing and 20" tyres and you will eat predators for breakfast. You better watch out, cause a raptor that is set up right will also eat DS650 and YFZ450's with basic mods.

The trick is in the carbs. Set those puppies right and you wake up the raptor big time.

I used to run a 12 tooth front on the raptor personally. I had it for quite a while. I feel it is just a waste. The 13 is much better for drags and such and its just wider. I guess on a stock raptor, the 12 is nice because it feels like it pulls a lot harder, but its a waste i feel with the pipe and all that.---Rider1169
