Default Kodiak Power

I have a 2004 kodiak and I'm installing a set of 26 inch mud lites and ITP wheels on it. I want to up the power. I don't want to do a jet kit. or a clutch kit. Someone told me that a new exhaust would help. does a new muffler really work as well as they say. will it increase my Hp.

the only way your going to see a power increase is to go to an aftermarket pipe , hmf or supertrapp , then add a k-n or uni filter and then have it re jetted to compensate for the improved flow you added with the pipe and filter . i have not done my kodiak yet but when i did these two mods to my warrior it felt almost twice as potent as it did stock . i was very satisfied . hmf claims a 3 hp gain with their pipe , with that and a k-n you may see a 5-6 hp gain at most but it will feel a lot better . clutch mods are not reccomended unless running really big mud tires . hope this helped some . try taking your end cap out sometime , you can feel a power increase but not like you will with a properly piped and jetted machine .
