Default suspension problem?

i already started a thread on this topic but didnt really get an answer. i can twist the rear shock on my 04 raptor to the left and to the right. i noticed this when i grabbed my gas cylinder while washing all the dirt and fling off from the chain lube off. it turned slightly and then i noticed it was my whole shock turning. my question is, can the suspension loosen up enough to cause this, or are my collar/oil seals bad, or something else. Its going to be a beautiful weekend and i wanna ride bad, but dont want to cause damage to my shock because of a 14 dollar set of seals. someone told me its normal for the shock to be able to be twisted to the left and right like this but it seems like too much too me.thanks

Yeah, it's ok for the shock to be doing that. The bearings in the top and bottom of the shock are set up to have the ability to move around a little. Just be sure to check the clearances between the resevoir and the inside of the swingarm when you have the shock twisted all the way. If it looks like it will make contact when the suspension is compressed, the bearings need to be replaced or you have another problem.

no the suspensions action is smooth and works just fine, no bottoming or anything. no fear of the cylinder making contact either! thanks fer the answer.
