Why don't you sell it and buy something else. I am sure there are a lot of people that want the awsome raptor.

Im not sure why all of the problems.Ive had no problems at all with axels,a arms or motor problems and I also swamped mine over the seat with water(See my Im such a Dumbass post)and drove it back 7 miles with half water and half oil in the crankcase. She still runs strong as a bull on steroidsI love the Raptor and for all of you guys having problems I feel for ya,but for me no problems yet and would tell this fellow with the 400ex to sell, sell, sell as I did.

I have had my raptor for 3 weeks now and it has been out 5 times. In mud, dust and even through engine high water. NO problems yet and I check the air box every time I am done riding. NOthing has gotten in there to date. The chain stays tight(other than the break in stretch). I did dent one arm on the bottom from catching a stump when coming down a fast hill. It is NOT bent and works fine for now. I am not defending the bike either trust me if I thought it was a pos I'd be the first to unload it. I can't believe how many people can't ride for ten minutes without bending an axle. Sunday I was jumping a 4 ft hight table top just to see if anything will break while under wty still. I got at the most 5ft of air landing pretty hard several times and took and rode it on the street where I can feel everything and its fine. maybe I'm just lucky? who knows
bottom line is I got and I ride it its fine

I checked my crank case vent last night and it only pushes air. This design has been incorporated into previous Yamaha designs and have had no problems. Maybe check your air filter...if it is in upside-down it will not seal properly.

Well, my experience thus far with the Raptor has been exceptional. It has been able to handle all I have thrown at it, including jumps and rough terrain. I have not had problems with the axles or suspension in general, in fact, I am a 260lb rider so my jumps should put stress on it. I have taken the bike out a few times now and did some serious hill climbing and dune running, no problems whatsoever.

Anyway, just thought I would throw in my 2 cents. Dont be afraid to get a Raptor, I am sure the problems you are hearing about are the exception and not the rule.
