how to clean my carb?????
#3
In case you have never done this before, I'll go through all the details. First, shut off the fuel, then either run the quad out of gas, or drain the carb with the drain screw. Depending on clearance, you may need to remove the air box to give you more room, then unbolt/unclamp the carb from the air box, then the intake to the motor. I'll assume yours is stock, and the carb still has the TORS on it, there will be wires running to it that need to be unplugged. remove the 4 screws on the bottom, pull the bowl off and using the straw on the carb spray can, get into all the little passages and spray until it runs out the other side, or out another port, to make sure it is clear. Use a little screw driver to remove the pilot jet (in a little hole next to the main jet) and spray it out, then the hole it was in. If you want, remove the float and needle and seat and clean out that area real good. When you are satisfied with the cleaning , a goo shot of air will dry it out, and push any left over gunk out. reassemble, put back on quad, turn on gas and start it up. Adjust idle and mixture, in case cleaning changed the air/fuel mix settings. Take it for a run, and check for proper operation. This is just a general instruction, someone that has a Blaster can probably give you any special things to check or watch out for.
