most HP gain
#2
Well, in response to your question I refer to the August 2004 edition of Dirtwheels where they printed the results of their pipe shootout for the YFZ 450. However, there is some bias in this article because several pipes were not included in the shotout for various reasons. I should also mention that this shootout did not include full systems, but slip-ons only, with only carb and airbox mods.
Here are some of the results:
The Dubach Racing slip-on made the most horsepower with 47.1 at 8300 rpm. Next is the DG pipe with 47 hp at 9250 rpm. So it takes longer to produce the power. Next you have several pipes with 46.5 hp and up, including the Big Gun, GYTR, HMF and FMF. But some pipes take longer than others to produce the power, and also their power curves are different. Some are strong on the bottom and others wait to build their power. I would reference this issue before you make your decision, if you are that serious.

I agree, look at that mag article to help you decide. I've got the GYT-R pipe and header pipe. I noticed a strong gain in power with these
products, but one of the other pipes might have been better. Don't forget to toss your lid and re-jet accordingly.
