Default How to adjust the cam chain tensioner on Warrior??

I've got a 2001 yamaha warrior quad that has developed a nasty "ticking" in the engine.

A few different people have suggested it may be the cam chain tensioner.

Any way to adjust it? Check it?

Thanks

Make sure your valves are set right, and that the adjuster nuts are tight. These motors are somewhat "ticky" to start with, an aftermarket cam can make it louder.

The timing chain is self adjusting.

i would bet its the cam chain the strech after awile... the tensioner will max it self out on its own the best way to see if your cam chain is loose is to take that round cover with to allen bolts on the left side of your motor see if there is any play in the chain there should be hardly any
