Anyone know what would cause this? Gears, shift forks? I bought a '91 that needs some work. Rode it today and it jumped out of gear in 4th and 5th when you apply alot of power. I would like to have an idea what I am looking at before I open her up. Thanks

I had an old 87 250X bout 14 years ago and it started doing that to me but in 2nd and 3rd gear. It turned out to be the whole gear box needed to be replaced.

I hope it is just your clutch! Cause damn it was expensive to replace that gear box!

 

My warrior sometimes does that in 3rd or 4th gear when i give it alot of gas

 

my blaster does that wen im racing an going through the gears fast. ive heard its just those yamaha trannys, but it might be somtin else. maybe if it gets really bad have it rebuilt with aftermarket parts.

 

Check your reverse lever position and reverse switch, this caused my friends bike to jump out of gear at
certan times while riding.
