Beartracker VS. BigBear 400
#1
I am getting ready to purchase my first ATV. I am 26 years old and will by using it for mild farm chores, hunting, and limited trail riding (not much mudding) I have not decided whether to go with the 2WD Big Bear 400 or the Beartracker. I know there is a big difference in CC, but how much will a novice rider notice that? Is physical size of the machine a benefit or a hinderence? The beartracker still has pretty good top end, right? Hopefully some of you guys can help me make up my mind. Any responses are greatly appreciated

the Beratracker is a decent atv a friend has one, as for top end it won't run with 400 and up machines but on the trails it goes good. The 400 would be a better choice , just for the fact you will not tire of it as fast. and more after market items would be aviable for the 400. Though my friend has a point he paid 3800 for his i paid close to 7 grand for my SP, he goes pretty much were I do. sometimes I wonder why I paid as much as i did? i ride with allot of 250 and 300 machines they seem to have as much fun at the end of the day as I do. buy what you feel will do what you want. both will give you loads of fun.
As for physical size, i like bigger machine they at least feel more stable wether they are i am not sure? As for power for a novice there is two schools on this one, one ok not to much power to get hurt, but also i see people push there smaller atv's to the limit and beyond trying to keep up with bigger machines.
