Replacement BULB/ KODIAK
#1
Can anybody recomend a Headlight bulb thats better than the stock. Mine went out and when I asked the parts guy for a brighter one he said anything bigger or brighter will melt the wires and plastic around the headlight assembly. What do you guys know about this? I want to do some night riding this summer. Thanks

well if it was me i would leave those alone becasue he is prob right and i would buy some extra ones from yamaha and put them on.. they are really bright or buy them from where ever i have just seen the yamaha ones and they are great!
And also if it was me i would make them be able to come off easy so they werent always on there..

Why not get a flood that plugs into your ppt. I have one with a magnetic base but it can also be adapted to bracket for a rail. It is very bright and adjustable, use it for hunting lots while skinning, hanging, dragging, backing up, etc. The magnet is strong enough when moving at moderate speeds but I wouldn't trust it balming down the trails though. I haven't found the right bracket for the kodiak yet, so may just make one and mount it to front rack. Or if you have a solid front storage box you can mount the bracket to the top of it and just remove the light when not required from the bracket.
I bought mine several years ago at a Farm Supply store.

I bought the H6M bulbs from my dealer.
I think its the same 35Watt bulb but puts out light like its 55Watts. It is part # ABA-70023-00-00
