Looking for a 2 wheel drive that is fun on the trails and yet still has pulling power for work.
I have been looking at the Rancher and the Big Bear, which is the best for the money and Why?
Wanting to know the good and the Bad of Both. Thanks in advance for any info.

I would stay away from quads with the autoclutch setup, I had a new 99 Big Bear, and traded it two months later on the Kodiak. I've also ridden a Rancher a couple times, ************************************************** . I would find out what you could get a two wheel drive Kodiak for, maybe check out the Polaris line up.

if picking between them two the Big Bear all the way without a doubt not a question in my mind. Would not even consider the Rancher in the same league as a Big Bear.

The Rancher is the best 350 out there bar none. If you need a 400cc go with the Kodiak, its a better & newer design. The Kodiak comes in a 2wd & 4wd version.

I had a 2000 big bear with 27 inch mud bugs and it kicked royal BUTT. I got rid of it because it did not have enough power to turn the tires in the deep mud. Now I have a 99 grizzly with the same tires and if has enough power to spin them over. I would really go with the big bear it is a really nice machine.

Quadfather is right about the Rancher. My friend picked his up on Thursday, and we went riding yesterday. We switched, and within five minutes I wanted my Kodiak back. The Rancher seemed like it was gutless. It was comfortable to ride, but is very underpowered.

They call it a 350 but i am sure it is closer to a 300 cc motor.
