Default Grizzly 660 or Kodiak 450?

Thinking of getting a Grizzly. All i'm doing is trail riding (most of the time) and alittle work at my friends farm so i can go deer hunting in the fall. Would i be better off with a 450 or 660. I'm not looking to race. I just want to stay up with the rest of my friends, don't want to get stuck in the mud either. Any info would help. Thank You

Depends on how much money you want to spend. If you are going to be pulling heavy loads a lot of the time, get the Grizzly. Otherwise, you will be happy with either one.

I, Have an 05 kodiak and love it, if your notgoing to race it's plenty fast, and if its for trail riding you cant max it out anyhow, as far as pulling loads the grizzly can tow 100 pounds more, as far as getting stuck the kodiak will get you through where ya wantto go for the most part. I think the grizzly is nice and if could spend an extra grand it would b great but a little over kill. the kodiak has everyhting the grizzl has except motor and its a tad smaller. Sorry i couldnt help to much but their both great

Welp, if it was me and I had the extra money, I would definitly go for the Grizzly. If you didnt want to spend the extra money, then the Kodiak would definitely get the jobn done as well. As far as keeping up with the big boys, they both will. I have a Bruin 350 4x4, and it keeps up with the guys I ride with just fine on the trails. As far as top speed and in the mud the Bruin dont compare to the others, but you cant expect it to. YOu will be happy with both.

Go with the Grizz. You will be wanting more pow'r with the Kodiak after a few months and you might as will get it with the Grizz.

I am getting ready to rejet my friends Kodiak to help get more power out of it. He thought that it would be good enough when he bought it. We are going to mod the airbox a little and possibly pipe it. Go with the griz.

Hey, thanks for the info! Makes it even harder to make up my mind. When I go to buy it i'm going to put down some cash maybe $1500. to $2000. But how about the good and the bad, any problems with either one or recalls? or just any problems at all??? I'm really looking forward to the 660 maybe last years or a used 03. But thanks again for your help

More power makes it easy to break things. The 03's have a bad reputation for breaking axels, but mine has been great. Just don' trun through mud holes WOT and you won' t break axels unless something really wierd happens. I would still go with the griz.

I would highly recommend you NOT to get an 03. I have broken all 4 of my axle's. And I'm not hard on it either, say whatever you want. 2 of them broke just while casually driving through the trails. Get anything but an 03!

I use my throttle as an on and off switch and haven't broken one yet. I usually don' t run in 4wd and it is not possible to break a front axel if you don' t normally use 4 wd. I have one rear cv joint that clicks and may break sometime this year, but I ride the heck out of mine and no problems. Any time you spin the tires fast in 4 wd, the spinning tires act like fly wheels. When one tire grips, it stops spinning, and the spinning tires keep going and break it due to their inertia. It reverses the torque very quickly and contributes to the breakage.
