Default bike engine in quad

i was wondering if anyone has ever takin a yamaha yz 125 or 250 bike engine and put it into a blaster frame or has seen this done? If it is possible i would like to do this because im running a blaster in a quad open class in new york in the district 3 and they dont have any specific classes for different engine sizes and i dont have the money to buy a 450, 250r, or anything along them lines. any info would be nice. Thanks alot

anything is possible if you know what you are doing.biggest problem i see is mounting a radiator if you go to a liquid cooled engine.yamaha made an air cooled 490 2 stroke up until abot 92.

do you think that a 125 or 250 motor would give me alot more power than the blaster engine or would it be about the same? about how big is one of the 490 motors compaired to the size of the blaster motor? depending on the size of the motor, like if it was a 125 engine i could probably put the radiator either in between the frame and steering stem or right behind that part on the frame. what would be the best bet??

the 490 would be quite a bit bigger, you would have to shoe horn it in for sure.a 125 may give you a little more zip,but not much.it would probably not be worth the trouble.so i guess that leaves you with a 250.there is a lot of things you have to worry about though, exhaust and radiator the biggest i see.
