ok this quad is for my cousin, he is 16, 6'3" and weighs about 195-200. he doesnt think the yfz will be enough for his wieght and size.
he is deciding between a raptor 660 and a yfz. he rides mostly sand and some trails. will a yfz be good for a big guy on the dunes?

 

from my short rides of the raptor and the yfz if there was a bike i would want to ride all day at the dunes it would be the raptor, the seat is more comfortable. but if the only reason he dont want the yfz is becuase he thinks he's too big for it. he isnt that bike will do fine with his weight on it. i would go with the raptor though for dunes and trails. if the trails he rides arent narrow though i would consider the ds 650 it is i think one of the best duners out of the box.

well since the yfz will beat the **** out of a 660 what do you think?
im damn near the same size and i smoke all of my friends 660s
so is it a matter of you dont want cuz to get a better bike then yours.

Stock for stock sure, the yfz is the better performer hands down. It gets a little closer with bolt ons though.

YFZ is a better race bike, but imo the raptor is the better trail bike for people who dont ride at the limit all the time on a stock machine. And the raptor competes and handles quite well with a few upgrades.

 

what about sand, hes a big guy. will the yfz be better in the sand than the raptor?

 

The raptor makes more torque lower in the rev range and is better for moving bigger guys around. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the sand he might want to look at a ds650 as well.

 

hey i weigh around 200 lbs and i'm 5'8' and my yfz rips through almost anything, i am very impressed but honestly which ever one he gets he'll be satisfied... the yfz does also have a few free mods to do to it in order to make it louder and a little faster.... CAM MOD etc...

 

I am 6'3" 270 and my 450 still rips.. I wouldn't trade it for anything!...well maybe a DS650 but anyways I love my quad.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

The Raptor beats the yfz in the sand according to an issue of ATV RIDER, as it does in the trails as well. The yfz is more for racing on tracks.

 

no raptors dont overall yfz is better upgraded shocks etc... top end speed stock for stock they say the raptorwill eventually beat out the yfz but tell ya what the yfz has enough power to make me happy... either bike though has enough power all around...
