The Bayou has electic start and reverse it is basically the bottom of the heap of comparable machines. The Blaster is a much better trail machine. You might want to consider the Honda Recon or Yamaha Beartracker (or wait a month for the 250EX ) if you prefer 4 stroke.

The blaster would be the best choice if you like to climb hills, i don't think the bayou would go up many hills, you could wait for the 250EX but i wouldn't it is just a sport body with a recon engine in it, just get the blaster, pretty good trail machine, but has bad brakes.

My freind has a bayou that goes up hills great. he goes up the same ones a wolverine has trouble on. they go fine up hills. In fact he went up a hill that a blaster rolled down becuase the blaster rode a wheely up it and could not turn. Blasters have a lot more power and look a lot better.

Just curious...who told you that the Blaster is unreliable?

The problem is that the Blaster is an entry level sport quad...and too many of its owners are just that...entry level. They have little or no mechanical experience yet seem to think they are master mechanics. Usually their mechanical work does more harm than good.

I've had my Blaster for 4 years now...it hasn't given me a problem yet.

The Blaster was the first quad to ever complete the Paris - Drakkar Rally (something like a 1000 mile desert race)....

Peltrax,

The Kawasaki Bayou is an excellent machine. I know because I own one. It does indeed go up some pretty good hills, not steep steep hills, but some good inclines. It is very reliable with electric and pull start, automatic clutch and reverse. The Bayou would be an ultimate trail bike.

220's can go up some pretty steep hills but dont have a lot of power like the blasters do i would go with the blaster because it can climb a lot bigger hills because you can go up it with more speed than on a 220.
and if you want to upgrade your bike the blaster has way more upgrades than the 220.
