Hey everybody, I just installed my new g-force +4 axle today. This is one nice axle. I like the finish and it sure looks good. A couple of rides up and down the street and a little jaunt off road tells me my raptor is more stable. I like It.
At first I thought i installed it wrong because the right side looked a little wider. After taking a lot of measurements I found out that my plastic heel gaurds were not the same size. The right side was 12 inches and the left 13 inches. This gave me an illusion that the axle was off, but it wasnt! I wonder how many Raptors have differant size heel gaurds on them?
A special thanks to CTracingraptor for instructions, install went great. At this time I would recommend this axle to any body.
One last thing, what should the axle nut be torqed to? Rocky mountain said 25 ft lbs. Seems low but was just wondering?
Happy riding!

your heel guards are prob. different cause one is bent? if you have the stock axle nuts the the right procedure is to tighten the inside nut to 40 ftlbs then hold it with a wrench and tighten the outside nut against the inner to 140 ftlbs. then tighten the inner nut back out against the outer nut to 170 ftlbs. thats right out if my yamaha repair manual

Raptorfan, the new axle comes with a three piece axle nut.. you dont use the stock ones any more. The new nut actually looks like its made out of aluminum... I dont think it would take that kind of pressure (torque).
My heel gaurds are not bent... I measured the plastic from inside to outside the longest portion and then compared the two. Try it and see what you GET?
Thanks....
