The YFZ is a race machine, purpose built for racing be is XC, or MX, or TT or whatever. The YFZ is a race machine that you can trail ride. The z400/KFX are trail machines that can be raced, there is a difference.
The YFZ is going to be faster no doubt. The z400 would have to be modded to keep up, that's why Doug Gust runs a 440cc engine, he needs it.
The TRX450r and the YFZ are more comparable. Fact is the 450r and the z400 are slightly more comparable but still I'm sure the 450r is a good bit faster.

my buddy has the KFX and in a drag i can take him in top end mine will pull away but not to much on a track he could prolly do better buts its his 1st manual machine and hes only had it for a week, but it tight trails its a b!tch to keep up [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img]

well just got back from pismo (oceano) dunes and i raced quite a few z400's and raptor660r's most were modded and sounded pretty hooked up and i beat them everytime they wanted to drag, now not by a lot about 1 1/2 quad lengths give or take i played with them and let them get the lead and once i hit my powerband yfz450 takes control of the situation.... yfz's are pure power all around... that was what i experienced this weekend...

Ummm...ok...well obviously the YFZ but what kind of a question is this? The z400 is made for trails and the YFZ is purely for racing....jeesh it's like asking if a Ferrari would beat a Dodge Ram...ask this again when the z450 comes out then that will be a great question, I would really love to see people's replies then...
