2006 Wolverine 450
that is not a wolverine in my opinion. it looks horrible and small and is heavy. yamaha should have stayed with the old 350 if you ask me. cept for the 2wd/4wd select. yamaha is out to lunch on this one.
it totaly defies everything the wolvy was. it gained weight, it looks like a pile of Shi$, and its an automatic!that really sets itself from a wolverine of the past. This is sposed to be a sport quad? why didnt they just throw the yzf motor in their?

Can those mentioning the weights let us know where their weight info is listed?
The Yamaha website shows the Kodiak 450 at 591 lbs and the Kodiak 400 at 578 lbs. If the new Wolverine 421 is 516 lbs, somebody didn't do well in math. It is 75 lbs lighter than the Kodaik 450 and 62 lbs lighter than the Kodiak 400. This is a significant weight difference.
Personally, I have been wanting a lighter weight fully auto sport quad to come out. I have people I would like to ride with but don't trust putting them on a sport quad with a clutch. I considered the old Wolverine but didn't like that it was a 350 and full time 4X4.
I may have to put another Yamaha in the garage.

You can take the older kodiak drop the racks the rear hitch some plasctic and down size the tires from 25" to 23" and there is your 35# difference. The 2003-2004 SRA 450 (421cc) Kodiak weighs 551 compared to the 516 of the new version that = 35#'s

I believed the next generation wolverine was going to be a little more competitive in the Sport 4x4 against the Prairies 650s and 700s with the Raptor's 700EFi, but this Wolverine is a real joke. A Kodiak with SRA and Sport look plastic. Forget it, this is not an exceptable Wolverine delivered from Yamaha. They can do much better, and where is the Grizzly 800?
