Default 2006 Wolverine 450

I think the Wolverine 450 was designed to compete with the Polaris Scrambler500, not the Prairie650/Brute650. The Scambler has a big following by people that want an automatic 4x4 that LOOKS sporty...No racks, no hitches, small tires, aggresive bodywork, etc
I think you might be right about what there taget was, Yami just missed it by using such a small motor. The poor wolverine won't come close to running with the likes of a scrambler of Prairie/BF650/700's. The bikes you mentioned as Yami's target are all much fast more powerfull quads.

I agree, they missed the target here, but then again it has always been behind the others.

For those of you that think this will be sportier and faster... Ummm Think again. The Auto trannies suck so MUCH power. For the life of me I cannot even imagine WHY they did this to such a niche machine..

I dont get it either. Think they could have really made a hit, had they went a different route.

New plastic is cheap. Designing an all new quad is not. Its all about the $$$$$$$$.

Agreed. I'm betting its slower than the 05. Can't wait to see one on the trails and test that theory...

They won't be getting my $$$$$$ for this bike. I guess I've got to start looking at the pure sport segment. The wolverine is dead

Also not very impressed. The only positive I can see is that we will have another choice for a 23' tire for our wolverines. I think it is a radial.

I think its ugly, and I'm surprised with no racks. It looks like a 80cc model. Yuk!

All of us wolverine owners have been talking about the amazing posibility of yamaha stepping it up and making a 450 wolverine. I was on the website and read yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4 and practically had to change my underwear. When I clicked and began to read and view the beast I quickly entered a state of dismay. The wolverine. With an AUTOMATIC TRANNY and FLOORBOARDS. If the Wolverine 350 is as beautiful as a 67 fastback mustang with a 427 then the Wolverine 450 is as crappy as a Mustang II with a V6 they made in the gas crisis of the 70s. and then to top it off RAPTOR LIKE PLASTICS. Why the F|_|ck DO THEY THINK WE ALL WANT OUR QUADS TO LOOK LIKE RAPTOR. I used to think yamaha had ***** for not stopping the banshee in the 80s/90s and building great machines but In one swift movement Ive lost a lot of respect for whatever crackheads they have running their ATV division. I will surely be investing in a 446 stroker kit way before I would think of a Wolverine 450. If I got one for free I would sell it without riding it because its a discrace to everything the Wolverine stands for. Are you faithful Wolvy 350 owners with me? This isnt a Wolverine its a bigbear with Fugly "race like" plastics and friggin floorboards. Im awed beyond what words can describe. Somebody please tell me this is all a bad dream.
