look at it this way ..... if the $500-800 u save by getting the 450r makes up for having a slower bike and having a kickstarter, then get it. i personally think the honda looks better but then that is being biased. bottomline, there are differences and it is all relative including the price so do NOT buy based on cost alone.

the yfz is a great bike it has way more power then the trx it revs real fast the trx is by far the best trail bike i have ever ridin it has power and comfort but there is a bike that does bolth things great and is the best handling quad on the market its also the sport quad of the year yet again the predator will perform great in all conditions (stock) and if u r scared wit polaris then get off the $$$ and get once again what no one else offers the 5 yrs warranty thats my opinion

You can go with either one. The yfz is a great quad, but so is the trx. It depends on wat u like. But the trx can beat a yfz in a race, ive seen it done. But overall the yfz is a little bit better quad. But the trx is still a great one!

this is probably about the best thread i can remember! no one is being a jerk abd saying that the other one is way better. i think which ever one you buy will be good, if you do buy the honda, you cann ad some parts with the bit of money you save, top speed isnt everything, only if you drag, personally im thinking of changing my sprockets on my 400ex to get more torque but less speed, better for trails

I have talked to the guy who runs the dyno at Little Sahara, OK and he said that the YFZ will gain quite a bit more power with similar modifications.

yeah dude i agree 100% i remember along time ago probally lik 3 months when i was last one here thats all there was o this quad is better then that one and this that and the other thing thats why i got off for along time

i also agree about speed isnt everything i usta think o i gotta have the fastest quad out there with a million and one mods but thr truth is the quad i have now does everything i ask it to do plus some idc if i lose a drag race its just for fun

Why spend the money saved on mods for the R when you can buy the Z and be faster stock? Seems to me the reliability factor would come into play there. I could easily justify the extra $500-800 to be on a faster machine.

All that being sad, the R is a great machine no doubt about it. I have had the joy of being out front in the majority of the drag races at our local watering hole. We average about 40 or so quads on Sunday afternoons. Unless I get a bad start it's pretty much over. That was until this past Sunday. Came up against an R that I could hang with. Don't know where he came from or what he was running. I do know that I could get him quick out of the hole due to the fact that I had much better tires. When it came to the middle gears he would just start pulling me until we got topped out. I've NEVER had another quad do that to me. I left there that day with a lot of respect for him. Don't know if he was bored and stroked or what, but it would run dang good. Good enough that I have started ordering some new parts this week.
