They will have more power. I would almost go as far as to say very noticable power, compared to the 660. Stock for stock, this new Raptor will run away from the 660. It's not as though they just did a few little things to the 05, they pretty much re-designed the thing. The new frame is sweet! I bet the EFI alone will give it 3 more h.p . I guess we will have to wait and see the facts as they come out.

I agree with MrDumass. This engine is new from the bottom up, so no one on this forum knows yet exactly what power differences there may be when compared to the 660.

I will let ya know in about 5 weeks though.

I agree with 86LT250RFatty it's not a huge leap forward. EFI sounds nice but I still recollect the bad taste I have seen C-Dale riders go thru with failures from EFI going out. I'd have to wait and see.

Another thing... I understand most round off numbers (400 is really 398cc, etc) but the Raptor is only 26cc more not the 40cc it is advertising. I'm sure it will play out in thier Marketing strategy with sales.

The compression is rather low too. Same as a Raptor. The Z400's have a nice beefy compression as do the YFZ why not toss it in this machine.

I'd have to wait till 07. It has me interested. I'm going to read posts on this machine and see what Dirt Wheels says in thier articles. I'm not ready to ditch the 660 yet.

Hey, I made the assumption based upon HP increase in the Rotax 650 motor with the application of EFI only, no displacement increase. Their number is +8 HP at the crank. I know these numbers are Rotax's and are open for speculation, and I know that a 26cc increase is not all that much, but the combo could yield 10-12 hp.

I've seen that a good exhaust system and filter adds 5-7hp. So we'll see. I just don't think a lot of work went into a 3hp gain.

Right now my decision is between raptor 700 and the z450 which isn't even released yet. I was just plannin on waiting on the z450 to come out, but then i saw the raptor 700efi. The new raptor looks really nice but i will have to wait and see how it compares to other fourwheelers and i also will have to see the z450 before i make a decision. But i am definatly considering the raptor right now.

I'd like to see how it compares to the YFZ first. If they would have left it at 05 pricing, it would be VERY tempting.

The main reason I bought the YFZ over another Rappy is due to the handling

Well i'm not really interested in the yfz because it doesn't have efi. Not saying nething bad bout the yfz i know they are quick bikes, b/c i have ridden one. I have never really liked the 660 raptor b/c of its handeling, but w/ the the 700 being wider, shorter, and longer hopefully it will handle good.
