Default Who is planning on buying the new Raptor?

My first time replying here. I have been reading atv connection for awhile now and have gotten alot of info
of this website for my raptor660. I am thinking of selling my bike and getting a used 4x4 for now and
waiting for hopefully for the Z450 and anything else that might come out later on this year. To figure out
what is the best bike for me. Reading all the yamaha posts that are on here are fun and it gives the average
person a perspective of what other people think about atv's. I am really excited about the new raptor700.
And I think it will be very competitive everywhere (dunes, mx, open trails). And I think it will give every stock
ATV in the high performance arena a run for it's money. Since yamaha fixed virtually every problem with
the Raptor660 I think the Raptor 700 with be a all around great bike unless it has EFI problems.

This is what grabbed my attention for the new yamaha 700 efi:

"Forged lightweight piston, connecting rod and crankshaft in the 686cc engine are light and strong, for a hard-hitting, quick-revving powerplant that revs all the way to 9000 RPM. Dual counterbalancers keep it smooth"

This could be very important when it comes to hp and power curve. This may be a fast reving bike.

The 700 has a lot of potential, The jug is bigger making for some room for a bigger piston. The compression should be pumped up for the drag racers. I think its great! Im sure Bombardier will step it up soon, But Im going to pounce on one of these rappys. I already have the tripple buff yamaha bolt pattern and shaws to fit it.

I am going to go out on a limb and say with a "good flowing pipe", The raptor 700 efi will pump out 10-12 more hp and 6-7 more ft lb torq than a STOCK 04 raptor 660. I hope the internal parts on this new motor are as light and strong as they say. When I get mine I will get the digital scale out and do some comparisons between the 700cc (102mm) piston and an aftermarket piston on the shelf for the raptors from 04/05.

Man! I've really been out of it. This is the first time I've heard about it. I just read up on it and whew! I just might pass up on the YFZ and grab me one these.

Its right here at Yamaha's Website

Gotta question the reasoning behind not buying a "first year" quad. When the YFZ came out I didn't here that being said, how about the new Z450 that everyone is anticipating?? Wait on it to??? I think all this talk of first year problems has derrived from the 01 Raptor. To which I say, I doubt Yamaha will make the same mistake twice.
