Default helicoils anybody used them

a buddy of mine has an old dirt bike with the spark plug threads stripped out. we were thinking about using a helicoil but i thought i would ask on here first. has anybody used them before and if you have do they work ok the bike is an 1982 honda XL250 i would post it in the honda area but yall have been so helpful to me.

Helicoils work well for plug thread repair. You can get a kit at autoparts stores.

yah man as long as you drill the hole on center everything will be just fine....they hold their own too

Default helicoils anybody used them

Someone put a heli coil on one of my old two stroke bikes once. The thing kept backing out. Someone makes a thread insert for a plug. I have seen them in pictures and they look real good. They are pinned in place so they can't back out. I have no idea where you can find these things, but I would try to find them if you could. If you can't, then the H-coil would work.
