I put a cam in my 99 warrior and it is a little bit loud. It is a high lift cam. I was told that a high lift cam will tick a little bit but I do not know I also have heavy springs in it also.

Did you adjust your valves to the CAM MANUFACTURER'S specs? Many times it is much different than stock. I have a hi-lift cam in my warrior, and it makes no more noise than stock.

I am wondering if you have ridden it like that?
If you keep hearing that its definately a valve out of adjustment, are you sure that you have the cam chain adjusted tight, and that the valve springs are installed right. You may need to readjust the valves after installing them. it is possible that under the higher stress of the cam that the adjustment may not hold, If so try and use loc-tite to hold the adjustment. If they loosen up too far you can kiss the entire top end bye bye.

I was thinking of putting a .390 lift cam, titanium valve springs and a 10.25 compression piston in my warrior. But everyone has told me that I would have to run race gas to get this to work. Is this true?

No, I have a .430 cam, titanium valve springs and a 10.25 wiseco piston in my Warrior and I don't have to run race gas.

I set the valves a little bit tighter that they called for. They called for .004intake and .005 on exhaust, I set them at .003 and .004 the cam said to set it at the 4and5 but it is alot better now and doesn't make as much noise and runs a like a bat out of h_ll Thanks for all the help guys.
