i just put it on and im waiting for this weekend to ride
i would ride it down my block but every time i do
the police are called on me so i will get back asap......
+1000 rpms, advance your timing, better accelleration
for a little over 100$ sounded good to me

uh, dont listen to that guy, you dont need to run race gas because you put in a rev box. And it wont make your engine run cooler.. dude, that made no sense at all " i suggest you run race gas so your engine stays cool" wtf is that supposed to mean, you dont need race gas. and its 5$ a gallon

From my own personal experience and from what I've seen from some of the guys that I race with you don't really need a different CDI on the YFZ450 with a stock motor.I put a Big Gun CDI on my YFZ that has a DG slip-on exhaust, removed airbox lid, K&N filter w/Outerwear and rejetted carb and actually slowed down 4/10th's of a second and 2 mph in the 1/8th mile at our local dragstrip. It seems like with the stock motor the extra RPM's actually hurt you, I guess that power starts falling way off after 10,500 RPM?!?!?
If you want to turn faster lap times spend the money on wheels and tires and widen it out a few inches.I hate to say it but for the average rider other than an exhaust and airbox lid removal there isn't much besides the cam mod that you can do for cheap that won't actually slow it down. You can also play with your gearing for different tracks.
One of our local dragstrips is having a 4 race series this year for ATV's is the only reason that I'm racing on a dragstrip. It's also a good way to see what parts work and which ones don't.The name of the dragstrip is Elk Creek Dragway and they have a website with info on the ATV races.

If I'm not mistaken the stock CDI will rev up to 10,500 RPM.The Big Gun CDI is supposed to give you something like 1,200 RPM more along with an altered ignition curve. The Big Gun website has all of that info on it.

little late....but "Fatty" needs to check his facts....many race fuels have been tested for this and do absorb more heat than the gasolines and also helps cool the intake charge....
And no you don't have to use it with a race rev box but anything to keep the engine cooler at those rpm's is betterText
