Default Raptor, jetting/lean mix problem.

When I first took my raptor out this weekend, it was running really rough, even after warmed up, if you gave it about half throttle to accelerate it would bog before catching and going, I tried everything, idle screw, new plug, and so on, I did notcie the plug was a little whitish so I figured lean mix.

Also when you rev it up, it initailly lags before revinng

Since it only bogged in midrange, I took the needles out and moved the clips to the 4th slot from the 3rd.(I am completely stock, with stock jets) I had to leave my summer house but when I fired it up it didnt seem to be laggin on the rev up.

Any ideas? I need to know everything that can fix this by thursday cause thats when I'm going back.

Thanks,

MIke.

lol.. alright, oddley enough i just had this problem and just fixed it yesterday... what you need to do is get to the carbs, and when you get the carbs off the boots (make sure they were even on the boots first..) after you get them off the boots take them and turn them upside down, take out the brass screws, and there you will see one big jet in the middle (main jet) and then a thinner smaller jet right beside it.. (piolet jet i believe) but dont mess with those, there will be a screw in one of the corners that will be down inside the carb alil ways, that one is adjustable.. if its stock it should be at 2 turns.. either way it doesnt matter, your runnin to lean.. but turn that screw out another 3/4 turn, (make sure you do the same on the other carb) and it will run like a dream, trust me, i was puzzled for about 2 weeks on what to do. and called alba and they told me exaclty what to do. very easy, and doesnt take very long to do.. took me about 3 hrs to tare it apart and put it back togeather, and it will rev higher, and run like a whole new machine. lemme know how it works.

Are you talking about the mixture screw on the outside of the carb?? the one about in the middle at the end where the intake box connects to? Cause I was thinking about that, but I figure I would try needles first before tearing the carbs off.

I never heard of a screw inside the carbs, do you know exactly wahts its called?

I'll take that into consideration too, thanks,

MIKe.
