Default Bogging banshee

Ok banshee has been running fine but last night it started bogging down, i checked the plugs to see if they were fouled, one was pretty nasty pretty rich, so I replaced them both and leaned it up a notch, put the caps on the carbs and fired it up sounded good with no bog, i turned it off and put everything back together, was about to take a test ride and it did it again, I took the filter off to check and see if both carbs were moveing and they were so I fired it up again to take a look at them from the inside and I saw a couple of fire burst with some backfire, a buddie said it sounds like i have a cracked reed, but I am not really sure wehre in the carb area the reeds are so I can inspect them can anyone help. Some info on my bike Cool Heads, 19 or 18 mm domes I believe, pipes, and some Pro flow spacers all around the carb. Keiln (SP?) carbs 35,, I believe.

could be a clogged jet and when you took of the carb caps it loosened it and then it ran and the crap fell back into clogging postion. i dont know much about jetting dual carb inducted engines so thats my best esplenation

well from what I know the left carb looking foward is the primary idle carb (make sense) but the fire and apparent bogging sound slash backfire is from the right carb.

If you Pull your Carbs Off you will see a Square with 4 Bolts Holding it on ( 1 for each side) unbolt them and that is your Rad Valves your Reeds are on the Back of your Rad valves Just Look at them Real Close For Cracks or Chips. Hope This Helps.

before you do anything try getting a can or 2 of carb/choke cleaner and spray it into the carbs through the airbox or take the carbs apart and spray them off, might just be buildup in the carbs. just my 2 cents

Might check to see if slides are worn out... I had a similar problem. One would stay open half way when engine would suck. Leaving for a bog and some backfire but would eventually go back down. I foul my right plug a bunch of times and went through jets and stuff. If you hit throttle without engine running it won't get stuck...needs to be at high rpms. Hopefully I helped rather than annoyed anyone but just my two cents as I have tons of experience with all my banshees in past and present...lol

My buddies shee would have problems with bogging, come to find out his floats were out of adjustment. You could play around with that if all else fails.
