I have always ran my 4-stroke motors just like he stated, just making sure to let it warm up first. I always changed my oil in the car motors after the first 100 miles also. My motors always ran good, didnt smoke, and lasted a long time. It makes sense to me, and goes along with the old saying break it in like you want to drive it.

You know when an engine builder puts an engine together. He takes it and puts it on a dyno and opens that baby up!!! He doesn't call up Grandma and tell her to come down and break-in his engine...
Break it in hard and it will run hard..... Break it in easy and it will use oil.......

he's right and wrong on these new nicasil(dont know if thats spelled correctly)cylinders you will never break them in there so hard even after running a full season on them ive seen absolutly no wear or even breakin markings.
if your running steel sleave than i would say run a tank of gas thru it first. however i dont think you could hurt them very much either your just giving the rings a little time to knock the scuffs out of the cylinders.
allways warm it up thats when you do the most damage
