Raptor/400EX owners
#1
While I have seen a lot of talk here about Raptor owners beating up on 400EX's, I would like to hear peoples opinions that own both a 400EX and a Raptor. Or people who just sold thier 400EX to buy one. Can you give comparisons of the two in terms of power, handling, fun factor, etc. For people who own both do you find that you are no longer interested in even riding the 400EX after getting your Raptor. I plan on buying a quad soon and cannot decide which way to go. Could you also tell me what you paid OTD for each.

The fun factor on both is very good. It really depends on how much you want to spend for the fun. The Raptor is faster but costs more. Are you on a budget?
If you don't need the fastest quad out there you can probably get a good deal on the 400EX. Yamaha dealers know the Raptor is in hot demand so they aren't dealing much if any on price.
One quad is a 70MPH the other is 65MPH, its your money & choice.
You can get a 400EX now, you will be on a waiting list & it could be next spring before you get a Raptor!
I am thinking about a Raptor but not this years model, I wan't Yamaha to work the bugs out!

As of right now, I own a 00'400ex, and a 86 Honda 4trax250r with a CT Racing 330 kit(which is for sale!). I have a Raptor on the way. I just got done riding the 400 with my boy on his E-Ton 50. The Honda is definately fun and it goes where ever you point it. I am 6'3" and weigh 220lbs and I think the Raptor is gonna be the better quad for me.Only because of the extra power that I can use being that I weigh as much as I do. The 400 is actually for my wife. She can handle it just fine. Like I said, I love the 400, I just don't think it has enough uumph for me personally. I am hoping that I will get the Raptor soon so I can do a comparison between all 3 quads. As soon as I do, I'll post it. Have a good one!!
86' Honda CT 330r (for sale)
00' Honda 400ex (for the wife)
00' E-Ton txl 50 (for my newly adopted son!!)
