Default Question about banshee running rough-

sorry for posting here I am on the bomb forum and my buddy has a banshee and he said it idles fine but sometimes it runs rough on top the another time it will run rough on the bottom, he has it bored out with toomey pipes he said the carbs are clean no dirt in the jets, I suggested to check for leakes around the intakes with wd-40 but you think it might be his crank seal between the bottom ends? someone please help, sorry my description is so vague, I did look on ronnies.com to see if there is a screen anywhere that could be plugged but had no luck, thanks in advance
