Ya with my z the first thing I did was take it off the truck and put it wide open down the farm in 5th gear. Nothing has ever gone wrong with the motor and I have quite a few hours on this baby. And I know it runs fine because it is just as fast as the 05 z400 that was supposed to be "faster" and have better "throttle response"......the throttle response part is true but its no faster then my z.....

Before anything, I would read the owner's manual from cover-to-cover...just to be safe.

 

keep your chain oiled, and grease your front sprocket. I also wouldnt advise popping the clutch very often until the chain is stretched.
