Default Powermadd Handguards on a Grizzly

I am trying to install a set of powermadd Handguards on a 2005 Grizzly. It seems the only way the throttle side guard mount will fit is if I remove the little tab that is welded to the handle bars and it looks like it holds everything in place. I know about the tab that is on the throttle mount but I am talking about the one on the bars. If I remove the metal tab will I have any problems with the throttle and front brake master cylinder staying put on the bars? Is there another way of mounting the guard that I haven't thought of? I am hoping someone on this forum has installed these handguards on a Grizzly before or has a new idea.

Even if somone can tell me if it is ok to remove the metal tab on the handle bars it would help alot. If you have removed this tab did you have any proublems keeping the throttle in place?
