Default Raptor 700R Weekend Races

Greenbeast,

Thanks for the race report, I'm more stoked about all the changes on the 700, not just what it will outrun. We will always want to race and we will always want to win, but there's always bigger and badder out there. If I just wanted a faster quad, I'd send my engine out to a builder and get 60 hp, but to get all the nice changes on the 700, you'd have to spend some serious cash.

I have a 660 and a V Force, I'll be getting a 700 next year and I'm sure one of those quads will be gathering cobwebs in the garage, even though I plan on riding the 700 in the dunes and keeping the 660 for the trails and of course the V Force belongs to the wife, even though she never rides it, around 50hrs on it, I still love to ride it, just not on the trails.

nicely put. winning isnt everything. i think the best changes they made were not to the engine. im talking A arms, swing arm, and axle!!! its not just motor work that helps you go fast, its stability... of course that doesnt really matter in a drag race but is your going to drag race than get a banshee... or a raptor 660 with a lot of engine work would be good too. probably just as good as a 700.

I love just having a good ole time but I think the competition is in our blood, I'll turn 50 in a couple months and I love to dragrace, has nothing to do with age, it's all mental

well i'll tell ya hwat the answers i got for the yamaha rep that came to our dealer to showcase it as well answer qustions on it said this. one reason they didnt give the better shocks was they want to keep the two quads separate from each other b/c honestly if the raptor did have those shocks its the best quad out... IT will out run and out drag the yfz450 now... the extra cc's and the YFI kicks in and its a field day for the raptor a lot fo the issues they had with the 660r and stuff they fixed as well bumped it up a noctch on this one... the yfz is the mx quad pretty much if your doing to do mx and stuff its the way to go but seems to me they want this new raptor to take it all the way... they took the demo to glamis and was doing hill shooting and dragging only things that wiere able to keep up are the trinity banshee's and stuff like that real high end dollar setup's, predator, 660rs, 450r, yfz450 none of them couldnt hang on how it handled as well acceleration it had being 6 lbs lighter than last years as well gaining cc's it's a quad that where people need to look out for....

maybe that will change your mind ;-)

Vinny, you seem to have a hard time keeping your stories straight, the response you posted to my thread contradicts everything you have stated. Maybe you are related to John Kerry, He too was a flip flopping IDIOT!

I know where you're coming from vinny, I've ridden the YFZ and love it's power and the way you can toss it around, but, it still feels small for me, the 700R just feels more natural. Before I bought the 700R I was contenplating YFZ, going back and forth on both quads. It's all personal preference for sure, If my wife doesn't divorce me, (why do you have to have 3 freaking quads, if you know what I mean hehehe), I plan on a YFZ or Zuki 450 in a couple of years, it's all good
