Default Broken 350 Bruin Radius Arm

Hi,

I am new to this forum, so be gentle with me!!

I bought a new 350 Bruin 12 months ago to replace my old bullet-proof 95 model equivelent model. I have just broken my second rear radius arm (or swing-arm, or whatever you want to call it) since this is all one assembly for both sides it is looking rather pricey. These first two have been replaced under warrenty, but I am worried about the next ones.

Am I the only one to have broken one of these?

I am not being overly rough with it, but I do clock up a fair distance. I have done a little over 6,000km (3,750 miles) in my first year.

My dealer has an ex demonstrator 650 Bombardier that will only cost me $4,000 (Australian, so about $3k US) to exchange for my 1 year old Bruin. Is this going to be any stronger?

Thoughts please!!

Was there a recall on those?

The dealer replaced it twice under warrenty because it was less than 12 months old. Neither replacement was any different to the first, so we never got an upgrade/recall.

Now driving a 650 Quest Bombardier. Loving it :-)

Yamaha might be good for recreation, but not up to a couple of hundred miles a day surveying. Huge fuel tank on Quest is big bonus too.

Cheers,

Fred

I thought of your situation when i read that post. I hate to say it, but it is not at all uncommon for Yamaha to skimp on one of more primary part(s). It certainly does a fine job of spoiling an otherwise great product. The Bruin is no exception, as it is a great 350cc class Ute, but this problem will shy away riders like me that want maximum durability when they spend $5,000+ on a new quad.
