2stroke4ever, look at your local cycle trader, check ebay ect. I have seen some NICE bikes go for around 5 grand or less, many of them have aftermarket goodies, such as shocks/pipe ect. Depends on your budjet. If you get the 06, you will prob throw some money modding it anyway.

I'm not sure how much I really plan to mod it if I do get an 06...maybe a pipe/silencer and jetting kit...eventually. I can't see doing much more than that since the quad seems so perfect by all counts right off the floor. By perfect, I'm mean for non-competition applications.

What I'm wondering after hearing about the seat change is whether the 06 seat will slip right onto an 04. I'm assuming the chassis and plastics aren't changing so one would think the seats will be compatible. I wonder how much OEM seats are. anybody know??

i never thought of that as an alternative to buying an 06. I wonder if the seats will fit, they ought to.

I can check on the seat swap. I build these for a living. I'll post when I try it out Monday.

for $2600 you could buy a full set of high end elkas and new tires of your choice. skimp a little on shocks and get works and do a bigbore kit high comp piston and a cam and have a better machine for the same price. but then again it is a brand new quad and that in itself almost makes it worth the extra money. just my .02

That's Good News. Thanks. Be sure to let me know!

I wonder if the 06 seat will look odd on the 04. I'm assuming that the chassis and plastics are identical so it shouldn't. Plus, I guess I'm not looking in the right places but I can't find seats for sale...only seat covers.

i rode a 04 with the same height bars as the new ones and i cant stand it.....i am too used to the stock height....
