ok today out of no where this dude comes up to me and asks me if i wanted to trade my blaster for his 1988 kawasaki ex 500 aka ninja 500. he had the title and everythink, he showed me. hes actually my friends cousin. im waiting for my dad to get off work to see what he thinks first. the bike started right up, he drove it down the street and everything, seems to be in good condition. im pretty sure im gonna trade. but what do u guys think? it kinda looks like this: Link

 

To tell you the truth i wouldn't do it myself. I got my dad and brother who ride with me and nothings better than when we're on the trail. Just try to come up with all the Positives and negatives of a streetbike over the blaster and vise versa. Hey man i hope you make the choise that works out best for you. Later

 

yea....im leaning towoards no. i havnt seen my dad all day.... we both been workin so i havnt asked him wut he thinks.

 

The cops won't stop you near as much on the EX on the street as the blaster. Seriously, if you can ride to work or school on the EX you can get a lot of use and economical miles out of the ninja. You can also get killed easier on the street. I am fortunate to ride both. Save up and by one, then you have got it all.

 

I wouldn't do it. The Blaster will be much more fun for you for a much longer time. If you were to get a sportbike, don't go any lower than 600cc. I wouldn't even consider the 500 a sportbike honestly. The difference between the 500 and 600 is night and day. Most riders will NEVER outride a good 600, while most will be bored with the 500 in a month. Do yourself a favor and pass on the deal......

 

ive made up my mind, keeping the blaster. after riding it, it seemed gutless. nothing like my friends hayabusa for sure. im gonna keep the lil blaster, buy a car, then ill be looking into the sportbikes. preferably 750 and up range. Yakuza my buddy told me the same thing as well, id get tired of it before i rode it.
