Default Raptor 686 kit

Is $2100.00 a good price for a full 686 kit? The kit comes with
1. NEW 686 CYLINDER
2. COMPLETE HIGH OUTPUT CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY
3. PORTING
4. 10.75:1 JE COMPRESSION PISTON
5. STAGE 2 CAMS
6. OVERSIZED VALVES
7. HEAVY DUTY VALVE SPRINGS
8. COMETIC TOP END GASKETS
9. MACHINE WORK COMPLETE READY FOR INSTALL

Thanks for your input

No sir, I don't think that's a good deal. Craycraft Racing has an awesome Signature 686 kit that's quite a bit less money.

Is $2100.00 a good price for a full 686 kit? The kit comes with

1. NEW 686 CYLINDER = 50 bucks bore and hone to match cylinder

2. COMPLETE HIGH OUTPUT CYLINDER HEAD ASSEMBLY = 400 and up depending

3. PORTING = mentioned above

4. 10.75:1 JE COMPRESSION PISTON= I think Sparks is the only one still using them but around 200 for a good piston

5. STAGE 2 CAMS = 125

6. OVERSIZED VALVES =150 depnding on brand

7. HEAVY DUTY VALVE SPRINGS =125

8. COMETIC TOP END GASKETS = 50-75

9. MACHINE WORK COMPLETE READY FOR INSTALL- the only machine work needed is the valve work.portwork and boring.

Call around you can get a good rod and everything put together for the price (or close) to what you mentioned.
I went with almost that exat setup on my first build.
I went with Craycraft and have continued to use him and VERY pleased. I got a new trans, rod and 1way with the rest of the things you want for not much more than that and that was assembled!

You don't need a new head or a new cylinder to turn a stock motor into a 686.

And you really don't need oversized valves on a 686. Just get some stainless steel valves. Ross makes a 10.75 to 1 piston. Thats what I have and am able to use 87 octane. Tim Barker rod...and don't forget to balance the crank.

Have you ever raced a Craycraft Signature 686? The exact same build that took the FSW 2 dyno crown? Don't try to mislead this young man with your bargain basement prices, you get what you pay for.

I had a Craycraft Signature 686 and ran the crap out of it on MX tracks. If the right piston is used and the bore is properly clearanced, you'll be fine without replacing the rod.

ubetrun, leave the builder bashing over at the fanatics. not my fault you dont like any builder from az, from kenz to KMS. bla bla bla, we've all hear the story. The difference between you and me is that i recognize craycraft as being a excellent builder. you on the other hand along with good ol' 14 mins(which we all miss so much) only recognize craycraft at being a top build which is BS. Whoopie you even bring up that fact that craycraft won FSWS 2.. he want teh second one. You and i both know what happened to him at fsws4 where was craycraft. he was KIA. now he is still a EXCELLENT builder just had some problem, i know he will be back and i am anxious to see what he does this febuary. Bring up FSWS in this post and dont forget to mention Kenz, and Sparks for walking over the competition(including craycraft) for the past 2 years. i'v raced stallion 686 plently of time, hell i've even had the honor of riding his bike for a few passes, I was pleased with it. Stallion isnt on the stock rod though, and it did run like a champ. All im saying is that for the $1600 for the craycraft 686 you dont get the rod, which is $500 on top of the $1600 which puts you at around....umm let me think.....$2100. And you as typical bad mouth kenz for being the cheapy build when the total to the same f-ing amount! Go back 90 days on the search, and any post ive ever made about helping people like BigDog looking for some help in going big with their motor ive mentioned the following names ALWAYS
Sparks
Craycraft
Kenz
Roberston Inc.

you on the other hand only mention
Craycraft

congrats...fell free to change your name to 14 mins....
