The 700r is both better and worse than the DS. It is a far superior trail machine with a suspension tune more towards that, but I still prefer the big beast for cruising the dunes.
I feel it has a better dune oriented suspension.

I have ridden it. I prefer the Arapeen trail system. Less traffic and more two track.

between the 2006 yfz450 and the raptor 700r, what is better for me? im 5'9 and weigh 175. i have 200 acres of land and about 100 acres of it i am able to ride. it is mostly open feild with some trees. I have been waiting for the new yfz450 to come out and et it, no questions asked, but ever since the 700r came out, i just dont noe which one to get. Thanks

I endoed my 700 this weekend and it took it like a champ! No stress marks (thank god for white plastics), started right back up with no problems, and nothing was broken (not even me 'cause landed on top of me). Very sweet.

I just did a Ride for Make A Wish over the weekend that was over 110 miles each way. There was a lot of places for extended WOT, some tight whooped out trails, a desert mountain pass, and 28 miles of smooth flat salt beds. The Rappy ran flawlesly. It really impressed a lot of people with its performance. top end It ran just a bit faster than a stock yfz.

Glad you survived the spill, that's one of the reasons I went with white, no stress marks, it'll just be a matter of time before I flip mine, of course I have to ride the dang thing first. This weekend will be 4 weeks I've had it, finally making a trip to Beverly Saturday to break her in

Don't forget about our big PSAR ride in October, 13-16 at Florence, Driftwood II, sites 7-21

Got all the info written down, and we will definitely try to make it down. Who knows what kind of hellish studying I may have to do that weekend . BTW, what does PSAR stand for? And is Driftwood II at Driftwood Shores? That does sound like a no-brainer, but you never know!

PSAR = Puget Sound / Seattle Area Riders, we are in the Where To Ride Forum. I've never been to Florence, all I know is it's Driftwood II, which is basically a big parking lot with restrooms and showers, some of us will be also staying at local motels and making the trip to the parking lot during the day. Drop in sometime on our thread, you'll get a very warm welcome.
