Ive got less than $6k in my car and i can beat any stock or slightly modded mustang (gt), and i get thirty miles to the gallon doing it. Now for the Lt1's and LS1's its a different story they're some pretty strong runners. Im all stock not even exhaust just the fresh engine swap.
Mustangs are hardly drag cars from the factory, and are hardly notable elsewhere imo.

 

You can make a mustang run 12's very cheap and easily. I have never went inside the motor and did it with exhaust, gears, and a few small bolt ons. I respect any drag racer but unless you put a power adder on a import you are limited in the power you can make with a small displacement engine. I know my stang is not the fastest by no means but it does pretty well against cars that cost a great deal more.

 

Who cares someone will always have something faster... if you want a fast Stang get an SVT, or wait a year for the new Shelby cobra gt500. Or just mod what you already have. Ive seen 5.0 Mustangs run 7 seconds......takes alot but it can be done.

 

Back in the old school days of draggin, the guys would get an old junker and swap in a new small block, some nice paint and wheels and you were rolling. Its the same thing the kids now are doing with hondas, taking a $1000 car and doing whatever you can to make it faster, at least thats what Im doing. I have a 1990 honda crx with a h22 prelude motor that can run constant 13s. bought the car for a grand and the motor for 500. plus some small things, for under 2gs can you say sleeper....I am not a huge rice fan but its all I could afford, plus the scene is cool.

 

Can you say jdm? Japanese domestic market. For some reason in japan they put the 1.6 dual cam in the crx, but not here. Therefore i did so, i am also looking into getting the jdm style front end to match being as i got a little nick up front the other day. Its a really nice sleeper inspite everyones opinion.
For the record i dont like rice either, there is a difference you know.

 

They're two totally different classes anyhow. Its like comparing a recon 250 to a raptor. well maybe not a recon.

 

are you on CRACK? my friend has a 2003 Mustang Cobra with a 2.87" Underdrive supercharger pully, Borla full cat back and X pipe, high flow cats, Predator Tuner, Steeda cold air intake and some more. this damn car can spin the tires in the 1st 4 gears with eeaassseeee. It was dynoed at around 440hp at the WHEELS. How the hell is a mustang not a respecable drag car?!?!?!? The mach 1's do 1/4miles in 13.1!!! The cobra in mid 12's!! the new GT with 300HP v8 does it in low 13's... You seriously need to lay of the rock buddy!!
