blaster with a studder
#1
new to the forums, i have a 94 blaster. i bought it used and now it has acquired a studder, and need help. the mods that i have found so far are a DG pipe and silencer, and a drilled air box. i run CAM2 110 octain with castor oil premix. i changed the plug and gaped it correctly. the problem that iam having is that it wants to die when not on the trottle and it popps and bangs and studders when in motion and trying to speed up. it will do this closer to the bottom of the power range, when it gets closer to the top it comes out of it. i have had the bike for about 2 weeks and it ran fine when i bought it, also i checked the plug and doesnt seem to be running rickh or lean or seems to be fouled, but i did see that their may be some arching from the plug wire terminal and the contact on the plug, looks a like it may be arching between each other. PLEASE someone help me i have never owned or worked on one till now and need a lot of help.

Also if it is running a DG pipe there is probably no internal motor mods..That means you paying for 110 is a waste of money, and it is actually hurting your preformance..My motor is at a builders shop right now being ported and the head is being milled..I am going to run a 50/50 mix of 93 pump gas and 110 octane and be somewhere around 180-185lbs of compression..Your stock bike is probably at 130lbs of compression..If i was you i would change the plug, put in 93 pump gas and then give it a go..
Good luck :-)

well from what i have seen their isnt any melted wires, as for the 110 i will prob change that to 92 pump gas. 110 is for high comp motors and after running it i found that the stock blaster is like 6.6 to 1 . with that comp i could run 87 and be fine. but i may still change the plug wire and plug when i get back from vacation, ill be away from my baby for a week. OH buy the way how do you all like the fuel prices???? iam a truck driver and that really hurts.
