Default spark arrestor

I tried to pull out the spark arrestor with a pair of robogrips with a cloth between the grip and the park arrestor. We were having trouble getting it out and there were scratches on it. Is that normal? When i get it out can i put it back in and still work?

ya, u can put it back in. But i wouldnt take it out to start with. U need some back pressure, and if u dont have it (by taking out the spark arrestor) u will lose power.

stop smoking crack. yes u can take out the baffle then put it back in if you want. It will make a little more power, but its mostly for sound

I'm not sure why you're worried about scratches- maybe i'm not understanding the entire thing there, but my stock muffler had been banged up on the end from someone rear ending the quad. I mutilated the baffle fairly badly when I removed it, and was still able to put it back in for when sound was an issue and it worked fine. Don't worry about his claim that you will lose power- that's not gonna happen, but if for some freak reason you do notice a loss in power just put the baffle back in.
