Default Testing pickup coil

My 99 wolverine won't start. I think my pickup coil is bad. Before I go spend $300 at the local dealer would someone mind double checking my work?

Please check the resistance on the pickup coil plug. This plug come out of the left side cover and has four wires colored brown, green. white/green and white red. Disconnect the plug and test the engine side of the plug. Please tell me the resistance between the brown and green wires and also between white/green and white/red wires.

If I do in fact need a new pickup coil, anyone know where I can get just that? I am in Canada. The dealer wants to sell the coil, stater and wires all as one unit for big $$$

Thanks!

Default Testing pickup coil

I found another bike to test and verufy I was testing mine correctly.

Bought just the pick-up coil from http://www.rmstator.com/
which the dealer will not sell separately. They also sell the complete unit for
1/3 the dealer's price
