YFZ450: anyone measure how many hours they get on 1 tank?

I just rode 5 hours straight and hadn't hit reserve yet. I was riding fairly conservatively though since I was by myself. Last spring I ran 41/2 hours in the snow before hitting reserve and refilling. That ride included a lot of time at higher RPM climbing icy hills and even a little mx.

Depends on the type of riding. At the dunes when I am heavy on the throttle for most of the time I have gotten just over 4 hours on a tank. Just regular trail riding in mountains and stuff I have gotten over 5. That is pushing it though. As you can see form my results and those of the other guys who posted it's going to be in the ballpark of 4 to 5 hours. remember that modds will have an affect on mileage also.

The 5 hours straight I really didn't take many breaks, just quick ones to change gloves and answer the call of nature. My engine is currently stock, so I should add that when I ride with my brother, he runs out of gas about half an hour earlier. The only difference in our quads is that he has an exhaust, K&N, rev box, and smaller tires. The smaller tires and rev box have a lot to do with his poorer mileage, but I could still go another 15 minutes or so when he just had the exhaust. When he was stock, our mileage was identical. The comparisons between the two quads are all during fairly aggresive trailriding. I can definately ride longer than I can on my Quadracer. It only goes about 3 1/2 to 4 hours on a tank.

Desert is a lot more open/higher speeds than western New York and Pennsylvania's thick woods. A lot of the trails I ride 3rd is the highest gear pretty much anyone could get into.
